Abortion
An abortion is anything that intentionally causes the death of a child after it has been conceived (at the moment of fertilization) but before it has been born alive (full body birth, including the head). An unintentional death of a child during that time frame is called a spontaneous abortion or, more commonly, a “miscarriage.” There are 3,200 to 3,500 abortions in America every day, there have been 59,746,229 in America since 1973, and there have been 1,800,000,000 abortions worldwide since 1973.
The Law of Biogenesis states that living things come only from other living things, by reproduction. That is, life does not arise from non-living material – only from other living organisms. According to this scientific law, all humans are living humans at every stage of their development.
Imagine you’re in the kitchen doing dishes and your 6 year old comes in from behind you and asks, “Can I kill this?” Your first question will be, “What is it?” Your answer should differ based on his answer. For example, if it is his little brother – a person – your answer may be vastly different than if it is an insect. If the object of the abortion issue is a person, then we cannot morally justify acting against them in any capacity that we couldn’t morally justify acting against a toddler.
